To start your trial, visit our Sign-up page, fill out the form, and hit submit. That’s it!

How do I continue using Countable after the trial runs out?

Once your trial period finishes, you will be directed to a payment page where you can upgrade to a paid account and continue to enjoy the benefits with no interruption. You can choose to register at any point during the trial with just a few clicks. However, we recommend taking advantage of our free trial period as it gives you complete access at no additional charge.

What are my options if I don’t want to continue after my trial period runs out?

You can permanently delete your account, but keep in mind that all your data will be lost. You can always put your account on pause instead of deleting it, which will save all your settings if and when you decide to jump back in.

Which staff in my firm should I create an account for?

We recommend creating an account for every team member to take full advantage of the features. The beauty of using Countable is that it offers a central online hub for everyone to communicate and access firm resources.

Which plan is right for my firm?

Our Essentials and Ignite Plans are great for firms that handle compilation engagements. Our Accelerate Plan is best suited for firms doing both compilations and reviews. More details on all our plans visit the pricing page on our website.

Which browsers can I use with Countable?

Countable is compatible with most browsers, including Safari, Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

Features and Integrations

Can I control what my employees can access?

Yes, you can easily manage user access at any time. Simply go to Settings > User and Access, select the team member, and click the Edit icon on the far right to adjust their permissions.

How do I collaborate with my client?

Your clients have access to their own Client Portal, where they can upload documents, receive reminders for missing documents, comment on engagement letters and documents, and provide sign-offs. You have full control over their access levels and can adjust their privacy settings as needed.

Can Countable integrate with my client’s bookkeeping system?

Yes, Countable integrates seamlessly with Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks, allowing you to sync their bookkeeping data and access financial information directly through our platform. If you’re using a different system, you can request its integration.

Is Countable integrated with MS Office and PDF Editor?

Yes, Countable is fully integrated with MS Office 365 (Excel and Word) and PDF Editor. You can view and edit documents directly within the tool if you have an MS Office 365 license. Otherwise, you can store and download them in various formats.

Does Countable validate and push back entries with integrated platforms?

Yes, Countable enables users to approve and push back selected journal entries into Xero, QBO, and Sage after the engagement is completed. This ensures that the Xero and QBO finalized trial balance matches with your finalized financial statements and tax returns at year-end. It thereby prevents any retained earnings reconciliation differences next year if you forget to post the year-end adjusting entries or incorrectly post them.

Am I entitled to tool upgrades and how do I upgrade?

Absolutely! As a cloud-based tool, you’re always using the latest version, with updates happening automatically without impacting your data. You’ll be notified of any new features when you log in. To stay updated on upcoming releases, sign up for our regular updates.

Can I request new integrations?

Absolutely! We highly value your feedback and are always striving to enhance our tool. You can email your requests to support@countable.co or use the Feedback Form located under Help > Leave Feedback in the tool.

Templates

What templates are available in Countable?

Countable offers a wide range of templates, including tax-only, letters, reports, checklists, and engagement templates. Our template library is continuously growing, with updates released twice a year.

Engagements

Which types of engagements are supported by Countable?

Countable currently supports Review, Compilation, and Tax engagements for both US and Canadian firms, providing a comprehensive all-in-one solution. This enables firms to automatically generate trial balances, lead sheets, and financial statements with notes in under 15 seconds. More features are in development. Are Audit and Tax templates available in Countable?

Tax-only templates are available on the platform, with additional functionalities expected to be launched by the end of 2024. Audit templates are currently in development.

Billing and Account

How am I billed?

We will automatically charge your credit card at the beginning of every month, and email you a receipt after the payment has been processed. You can also access your invoice and receipt online, under Settings > Billing.

For Essentials Plan only: We’ll include the additional charge for each new engagement on the next month’s bill.

Will I get setup assistance and ongoing support for free?

You have unlimited access to our support team. Our friendly support team is available 10 hours a day/5 days a week to assist you with anything you need.

What is the cloud storage limit?

Our Essentials Plan provides 1 GB cloud storage. All other plans come with unlimited cloud storage.

How do I cancel my Countable account?

It’s easy to cancel (but we’ll be sad to see you go). Click Settings in the top right corner of your account. Select Billing and find the “Delete Account” option at the bottom of the billing page.

How do the cloud platform pricing tiers work?

Our cloud platform has four pricing tiers:

  1. Essentials Plan: Best for small firms or beginners—includes up to 50 engagements and 1 GB of storage.
  2. Ignite Plan: Unlimited engagements and storage for growing firms.
  3. Accelerate Plan: Unlimited engagements and storage, plus advanced features for larger firms.
  4. Enterprise Plan: Customised for large firms with unlimited users, engagements, storage, and dedicated support.

 

What is the difference between the Essentials, Ignite, and Accelerate plans?
  • Essentials Plan:
    • Limited to 50 engagements
    • 1 GB of storage
    • Best for smaller firms or firms in early growth phases.
  • Ignite Plan:
    • Offers unlimited engagements
    • Unlimited storage
    • Supporting up to 10 users.
  • Accelerate Plan:
    • Offers unlimited engagements

  • Enterprise Plan:
    • Designed for larger firms, offering unlimited users, unlimited engagements, and unlimited storage, with customised features and dedicated support

 

Is there a free trial for cloud plans?
  • Yes, we offer a free trial for the Essentials, Ignite, and Accelerate plans. 

    This trial allows you to explore the platform and see how it can automate your workflows before committing to a plan.

What happens when my free trial ends?
  • Once the free trial period ends, you’ll have the option to continue using the platform by selecting one of our paid plans. If you decide not to continue, your data will be available for export for a limited time before access is revoked.

Monthly and Annual Plan

What are the payment options for cloud plans?

We offer monthly and annual billing options. Annual billing offers added savings, while monthly billing provides flexibility in managing cash flow.

Are there any discounts for annual contracts?

Yes, we provide discounts for clients who choose an annual plan. By opting for annual billing, you can achieve cost savings compared to monthly payments.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan as my firm grows?

Yes! Our cloud plans are designed to scale with your firm. You can easily upgrade or downgrade your plan as your needs change.

What support options are available with cloud plans?

All cloud plans include access to email support, a knowledge base, and in-app tutorials. Additionally, the Accelerate and Enterprise plans offer priority support and dedicated account managers.

Can I switch between monthly and annual plans?

Yes, you can switch between monthly and annual plans at any time. Annual plans provide cost savings, while monthly plans offer more flexibility. Just contact our support team to make the switch.

Is there a setup fee for cloud plans?

No, there are no setup fees for any of our cloud plans. Onboarding, setup, and support are all included in the price, ensuring your team can start smoothly without any hidden costs.

Do you offer multi-year contracts?

No, we do not offer multi-year contracts. You can choose between monthly or annual billing options, allowing flexibility as your firm’s needs change.

Is my data secure in the cloud?

Yes, your data security is a our top priority. All plans include  industry-standard encryption, regular backups, and compliance with relevant regulations, ensuring your data is protected and accessible only to authorized users.

What happens if I cancel my cloud plan?

If you choose to cancel your cloud plan, you’ll retain access to your data for a limited time before your account is deactivated. We will help you export any necessary data before the cancellation is finalised.

FLEX

How does Countable Flex pricing work?

Countable Flex offers two main plans—Flex 12 and Flex 24—allowing you to commit to a minimum number of engagements (12 or 24) at discounted rates. Once you meet the minimum, you can continue using Flex for additional engagements at the same discounted rate for the remainder of your contract.

What happens if I exceed the number of engagements in my plan?

You can continue using Countable Flex beyond your minimum commitment. Once the minimum is met, any additional engagements will be charged at the same discounted rate you initially locked in.

What services are included in the Flex Plans?

Flex currently covers year-end engagements such as compilations and tax preparation. Review engagements will be available soon. All plans include fully trained resources that can handle these tasks without the need for onboarding or training.

Can I change plans if my needs grow?

Yes, if you find that your resource needs have changed, you can upgrade your Flex plan or adjust your commitment after discussing with our team. We’re here to help you find the best solution for your firm.

Do Flex Plans include tax filing and advisory services?

Flex focuses on compliance-related services like compilations and tax engagements. Advisory services are not part of the Flex Plans, but we can help direct you to the right solutions if you’re looking for those additional services.

Are there any setup fees?

No, there are no setup fees with Countable Flex. The pricing you see is the pricing you pay, with no hidden costs or fees for onboarding.

Can I cancel my Flex Plan at any time?

Flex plans come with a contract period based on your commitment. Once you’ve met the minimum engagements, you can choose to either renew or exit the plan when your contract ends. Early cancellations before meeting the minimum commitment may have penalties, so it’s best to discuss options with our team.

How do I know if Flex is right for my firm?

If you’re facing challenges such as resource crunch, rapid client growth, team shortages, or cost predictability concerns, Flex is designed to give you immediate support. It’s particularly valuable during busy seasons when you need to scale quickly without the hassle of hiring and training staff.

What’s the commitment period for Flex plans?

The initial commitment runs through the contract period based on your engagement count (12 or 24). After meeting the minimum, you can continue to enjoy the discounted rates or opt out at the end of the contract.

Is there a trial period available?

We currently offer a commitment-free trial for new firms interested in exploring Flex. This allows you to experience the benefits firsthand before committing to a longer-term plan.
